Another quick post! I've just been so busy running around NYC that finding time to post has been hard. Anyway, this was a simple outfit for the muggy weather. I thought I had brought sensible shoes for walking the streets but my feet are, yet again, in shambles. An emergency trip to CVS for Dr. Scholl's massaging gel inserts has only given me partial relief. I suppose I'll be a tenderfoot forever.
Last night there was crazy lightning so Grant and I went up to the highline by our hotel to relax on some wooden lounges and take in the storm. It wasn't raining, just lightning and the scene was really spectacular. Mother nature's fireworks, indeed!
Edit: The crazy lightning has turned into a crazy storm! Grant and I currently watching the lightning high above NYC with the lights off and the city bustling below us, it's a beautiful scene.
PS Look who's up on the Refinery site today! http://www.refinery29.com/what-we-re-wearing-ashley-s-week-s-end-outfit-at-refinery29 :)

I love that picture of the city. So gorgeous. And you look so cute, love the color of your blouse! I feel your pain about shoes, even the Dr. Scholls massaging gels stop helping after a while in killer heels.

Ohh I love the view from your hotel and that lightning IS crazy!
ReplyDeleteLove it! And watching storms (from a safe distance) is always good. If that was the storm last night, it was super ferocious here too!

Watching lightening in the night sky is one of the most beautiful things. I think your outfit in these photos is one of my favourites ever. I saw your first piece on refinery 29 earlier this week without realising it was you and really liked it. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteYou look really great :) I love how you paired the blouse with your striped skirt! And the belt looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteI can totally understand you about tenderfeet...also, those lightning photos are impressive!!

Gorgeous outfit1 Love the yellow with the stripes. And fantastic lightning shots!
ReplyDeleteI know that not sensible shoes feeling in NYC, I always have that problem when I go. We walk so much when we go there's just too much to see. You want to look fashionable when your there but at the same time you don't want to look like a tourist with white sneakers. I still have not solved this mystery. I love electrical storms :)
ReplyDeleteI love your yellow shirt! You look very pretty! I live in NYC if you ever wanna meet up let me know <3 You have such a nice boyfriend.

you look great! you shouldn't sell that skirt :)
ReplyDeleteThis is one great outfit. I'm loving black&white paired with yellow. what a lovely view. There was an error on your link but I'll head over to refinery and see if I can find your feature. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteShoes are SO SO SO hard to do in NYC. Like I see people walking around in these ankle-breakers and I immediately assume (I know, this is rude but...) that they have money and can afford cabs. A subway taking-biking-walker like myself can't wear anything that hasn't been approved by a 60 year old for comfort. Most of my friends and I carry our nice shoes and wear saltwater sandals or flats around and change before we get to our destination.
ReplyDeleteALSOyour photos are so gorgeous. The one of the street is stunning. And the lightning! HOW YOU DO THAT!?
Every time I get back from NYC, my feet are in shambles. One time my once thought to be "comfortable" boots BRUISED my feet. I wish I was as tough as those New Yorkers...
