WIN A DRESS FROM SCRAPBOOK ORIGINALS!

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Outfit Details:
All dresses C/O Scrapbook Originals
Korkease sandals: thrifted

When Scrapbook Originals approached me to take some of their Fall 2011 dresses for a spin I pretty much snapped at the chance to do so. The line takes a lot of inspiration from vintage textiles and has a sort of madcap way of constructing clothing that I just love. My favorite sartorial twist is when outfits are composed of elements that, at first blush, might not go together but taken as a whole--it just works.  Think prints that slightly cash, adding bits of lace and crochet here and there, unusual color combinations...

Anyway, they were nice enough to let me pick out one dress to give away to you all and I picked the last dress that I'm wearing in the photos.  The quasi Southwestern print paired with the lace backing is so quirky and I think that this dress is cut super flatteringly (who does't want that?!), I also love the little ties at either side.

HOW TO ENTER:

1. Leave a comment telling me how you'd style these dresses, what you like about them--anything, really.

2. Fan Scrapbook Originals on Facebook HERE and fill out your e-mail and contact info HERE

That's it! Winner will be announced next Monday 8/8.

International friends are allowed (and encouraged!) to enter and of course you will be receiving the dress in your size. Good luck!

  2. I love the last dress that you are giving away! I think it would be wonderful to transition from summer to fall. I have the same kork-ease wedges as you, which look great with that dress.

  3. I really love the tribal print on the black dress... I would never have imagined it would work so well with the lace detail on the back... clever! I have been wearing my black birkenstock sandals all summer and they would go well with this dress for a casual lead in to fall...

  4. ooh okay I'm going to need that tribal print dress. I'd style it with torquoise jewelry and some nude flats. ahh I love it.

  5. Wow! I love these dresses. I love to put lace with prints and I love the bodice with the full flowered skirt on the second dress too. I'd wear the aztec print with my nude wedges and lots of gold jewelry! I signed up with scrapbook originals on facebook. Hope I win!

  6. I love all three dresses you've modeled. So unique. I'd probably end up throwing a cardigan on as I do much too often. Perfect to transition into fall.

  7. Awesome giveaway, Ash! The dresses you're wearing are STUNNING. Please enter me.

I fanned their fb page (I'm Jenny Benny) and I subscribed to the mailing list as well. :)

PS. Each dress is so different, it's hard to style them all the same. But I could tell you that these dresses would be perfect to wear in the fall as well b/c I have some lovely black and neutral colored cardis that would be brilliantly, plus shimmery tights. And I have loads of accessories to pair them with! ;)

  9. this is my favorite!!! it's such a unique dress i'd say the less styling the better

  10. I love these dresses, especially the last one. It's tough to pull off styling a bold tribal/patterned dress, so definitely the simplier the better.

  11. First off, I love Scrapbook Originals!! I discovered this line thanks to Hautelook, now I can't get enough. The fabric, details, cut, fit, colors, you name it! As for the above dresses, whats so unique about Scrapbook Origials is that you can just wear it without having to add much and you'll definitely be a hit. BUT, if you can I always say, accessorize-accessorize. So to the first dress, I would add a wide cinch belt, big silver hoop earrings, and leather braided strap cuff/bracelet. The 2nd dress, cute mustard crossbody bag, gold bangle bracelets and dangling earrings with colorful beads, like something by Amrita Singh. Lastly, the black dress with bone lace detail, I like the color of the models nail polish. I'd add a bold jade/turqoise/blue w/gold necklace, double or triple strand, big & by David Aubrey. Along with a hammered gold cuff. FUN, FUN!! :)

What I LOVE about the first dress is how regal its construction is and how the hue of blue provides a sense of enchantment and royalty to the garment. Plus, I like that it can be dressed up or down! It just needs a pair of tough leather wedges! I adore the playfulness of the second dress. It's the perfect summer dress in this unbearable heat. It's cute AND sexy at the same time! What can I say about the last dress...the pattern is to-die-for, the peekaboo white lace detailing on the back is breathtaking, and the shape of the garment itself is so wearable and versatile. I love all three!

  13. I really love the middle dress. I tend to be a minimalist in my stylings so I would probably wear simple, silver jewelry with any of the dresses and some nice sandals or subdued flats. I like to let the items I'm wearing speak for themselves which requires limiting the amount of accessories I wear.

  14. the last dress is so cute! i love the lace detail in the back. it's so unique and something totally differernt from what i currently have in my closet. it would give new life to my accessories.

i would probably keep it simple and wear them with my black ballet flats, colored tights and a little straw hat. i also have a grey blazer that would look really cute with it. if i wanted a splash of color, i have a coral colored cardigan that would look great with it.

my favorite thing about this dress is the versatility. i live in LA so it would be great for the whole year.

i just did the last step, so fingers crossed that i win! thanks for sharing!

  15. Oh my god. The first dress is amazing. I'd definitely rock those with beach wedges. For the second dress I'd wear it with my Coral & gold Monet necklace and with nude Mary Jane wedges. And the last dress I'd wear it as it is.

  16. So cute. I love the bold southwest print with the delicate lace detail! I'd pair it with my panama hat, chunky ivory bangles, and leather t-strap platform sandals. And a matte red lip for a splash of color!

  17. Oo I'd style the last dress with my red cowboy boots and my new (to me) black leather southwestern-y looking bag. :)

  18. Such great dresses, the lace detail in the last one is stunning!

I've just written a post titled 'The One that Got Away' on my new blog about a dress from your etsy store which sold right before I decided to buy it. There are no second chances with vintage... http://baileyblush.blogspot.com/2011/08/one-that-got-away.html

  19. i LOVE that last dress. it was my favorite of the three you modeled in this post. i love the southwest print juxtaposed with the nude lace in the back. i like how you styled it, simply with wedges to showcase the dress. i'd probably style it with nude flats or sandals also to pick up the color of the lace in the back. one thing i'd add is my vintage native american turquoise necklace, which was a gift from my hubby several years back. it would be perfect.

  22. All the dresses pictured here are adorable. The first one in blue could be a great piece to dress up or down with simple flats/sandals or a great pair of blue suede heels.

  23. I would definitely style the black dress with long gold leaf earrings and same black heels for a night out!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love the black dress! With black heeled ankle boots and that's about it, since it has alot going on itself...

  25. All three are beautiful! I became a fan on Facebook. I'd style the black dress with burnt orange nail polish, opaque black tights and killer heels for a night drinking cocktails in the (not so summery) British summertime!

  26. I absolutely love the dress you chose for the giveaway!!! In the fall, I'd love to pair it with maroon tights and combat boots, and a chic brown leather jacket! And as I would slip it off at a soiree, that beautiful lace detail would peek through! <33

Thank you for such a wonderful opportunity! You look amazing, Ashley!

  28. The last dress caught my attention right away. Honestly the pattern is not something I would normally go for but in this case, it looks really interesting. Love the mesh/lace detail on the back. I'd wear it with either my solid black pumps or my red ballet flats. No need for accessories

  29. I looooooove the last dress! The pattern is beautiful and I love the lace on the back. It's been so hot here lately so wearing a dress that is somewhat open at the back would be perfect.

  30. love love love the dress, i really like the combination of lace and the pattern, something that you don't see everyday, also kind of a hidden back, gorgeous

I love these dresses! My favorite would have to be the black one with aztec feel too it! I love anything like that! I would probably wear some black lita shoes with it! Also the first dress is really cute too! I first though tan wedges would go good with it but then I saw your shoes and I love that combination!

  32. Hi Ashley! Love the giveaway dress! I think it suits most body shapes too. I actually love all of the dresses. I'm so getting into vintage thanks to your YT channel and blog. I'm from Argentina so it's pretty cold here now but I'm sure that dress can work great with some tights and flats or clogs. I'm actually going to Europe in September so if I were lucky enough to win it, I'd be so happy to wear it there!

  34. Since the dress is so summery, i would wear them in winter or early spring with tights, and a brightly solid colored cardigan and boots, like combat or slouch...anything flat, as you don't want to take away from the dress. Thanks so much!

  37. Sexual taboos usually are not productive for the gay man. Until you have had a technique like direct stimulation of the prostate, you won't know the complete sensual expressions that come with an erotic gay sizegenetics. Once it heats up may first time you simply have patronized a gay sizegenetics, it's possible you'll be a tiny afraid. But once your erotic gay sizegenetics professional begins to warm the oils and lightly touch your body, you are able to grow calm and many of the nervousness will slowly, sensuously melt away. As your body relaxes, your mind will yearn to join for the delicious sensation of relaxation. You can then become aroused with your erotic gay sizegenetics.
