Since I'm a lady of my word, I kept to my Labor Day weekend goal of getting a haircut. How do you like it? I personally love it so much....now.
When my hairdresser put my hair into a pony tail (so that I could donate it to Locks of Love later) and made the first cut...I thought I was going to throw up. I honestly started feeling nauseous. My mind started to race and crazy thoughts began to swirl around my head, "is it possible to glue hair back together? Can I make extensions out of my old hair and get that braided back into my scalp?" but luckily, my friend who works at the salon was there to reassure me that I made the right decision and I quickly got over my panic.
Short hair makes me feel so free. If you read this blog regularly then maybe you've picked up on how ambivalent I was towards my hair. When it was long, I was constantly at battle with it. Clawing at knots, endlessly redoing updos because my hair would be so heavy that after a half hour buns that once were high atop my head were now hopelessly to the nape of my neck, finding hair EVERYWHERE and how annoying and gross it was to look down at my floor and see practically a carpet of hair (I have wood floors in my room, mind you).
Anyway, I'm glad (relieved?) for the change.

You look soooooo cute! I just chopped off all of mine too and love it. It's so free and so much more of a style than long hair was for me.

ReplyDeleteCongrats on the cut! Short hair changes EVERYTHING. I like my hair either in a short bob or long- anything in between is painful. Trying to keep it long now but everyday think about cutting it short again- it's just easy and always looks "done".

I chopped off my ridiculous curly hair to boy-short this time last year and it was freeing but there is a reason that I didn't start my blog until it was well on the road to growing back (haha). I think my favorite length is around where yours is...feminine but not so long that it weighs four million pounds...

I did that same thing a year and a half ago. I just chopped all my locks off (which were down to my waist). It felt soooo liberating and easy when it was short. Showing with phantom hair was a little strange. Anyway, this look is fantastic on you

I have had shorter hair than yours now and longer hair than what yours was and always found the longer hair to be easier to deal with and such, so that's my favorite. It looks great on you! Lucky girl, looks like you have natural body to it. Mine is pretty darn straight and fine, but there's a lot of it, so it can be hard to get it to stay in any kind of updo. So I've been sticking with short-mid length for a long time and love it. :)

I've been trying to grow my hair super long for ages, but it's really starting to annoy me (it gets stuck under my armpits when I'm trying to sleep! ?) like you I have very thick and heavy hair, I worry because I've had very short hair in the past and becasue my hair is so thick it gets very poofy, but the length you cut your hair is so cute and cool, yet not poofy. It looks great!
