The sweetest little 1940s dress. Another case of the shoulda, woulda, couldas.

Grant got a new camera, a Voigtlander Bessa. Fancy, fancy.

A good lookin pair of shorts.
I always look for these at thrift stores and I never find them. Hrmph!
Oh to be 13 again.
Not sure if I can divulge too much, but Grant and I got to pose as regular Huntington Beach street kids (along with one gussied up Ruby Aldridge) for an upcoming editorial shot by our pal Ed Templeton. More on that way later.
PS: DID YOU WIN MY GIVEAWAY? WINNER ANNOUNCED RIGHT OVER HERE! xo!

Steffys Pros and Cons
I'm so sad you didn't buy the 1940s dress, I want to recreate that amazing collar somehow. I also miss yearround flea markets, have been haunting the thrift stores more now.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear more about the secret project, sounds exciting.
Eeek! The detailing on that collar is gorgeous. I am intrigued by the Playboy party joke book...
ReplyDeleteYou look so different on that card! I'm assuming it's a student card. Also, holy that editorial sounds exciting! Can't wait. <3
The dress! How could you leave it behind? It is so pretty! Great pics!
ReplyDeleteI love that last photo, what is it? Great post btw ;)
ReplyDelete@Yeye, it's a really fancy (and so pretty!) top from S/S 2011. I didn't look at the tag but judging from all of the other clothing that was used on this shoot it was a major designer. Actually, i think it might be Christopher Kane? Alls I know is that someone said it was a $4,000 top 0_0
ReplyDeleteAt least you embraced your braces at 13... I have a high school photo where I'm smiling with my mouth closed to attempt to cover them up... dorkiest thing ever! I enjoyed your photo post, as always!
ReplyDeleteman that shirt! too cool!
ReplyDeletealso, i totally own an edition of those playboy joke books. they are so unbelievably sexist and racist... and i think i only laughed once. good thing i only paid 25 cents for it. i think eventually i'll cut it up for some of the saucy illustrations, but otherwise it belongs in the garbage bin.
great photos.
I love your blog! new follower :)
ReplyDeletealso, I've seen your shop on etsy and I love it! :)
I love posts like these :) and I cannot WAIT to see the editorial! You and Grant are feasts for the eyeees! And heck yes shells from Florida! Pop of color nailz and just because,
ReplyDeleteWHY DIDNT YOU GET DA DRESS, GURL!?
smash! your high school picture is super cute :)
ReplyDeleteHey.
ReplyDeleteI love love love this post. Snippets into other peoples' lives nourish me, internet-wise. The Saint Vincent de Paul I found that fridge at is on Ave 21 in Los Angeles, and it was really strange and serendipitous that I found it at all, because it was about 5pm, an hour to closing and it had just been sitting there. That SVdP is really hit-or-miss, and I guess I don't know the demographic of the area enough because I just assume it won't have anything good but whenever I poke my head in I'm usually pleasantly surprised. The prices aren't the best, I guess maybe they wised up to an influx of thrift-store enthusiasts of late? thank you for your kind, sincere words, lady. I think lately my blog is getting a little too personal but I just say what I feel like saying. thanks for sharing what you love and do so well. :)
