Did a bit of last minute antiquing over the weekend with my pal Beatrice up in Old Town Orange. If you're in Orange County and have yet to experience OTO during the holidays, you need to go check it out! All the store fronts are decked out in cute decorations and in the center park there's a huge tinsel santa and Christmas tree (I think once Hanukkah starts a menorah goes up too). It's the prettiest at night so make sure to go then.
I didn't get anything this time around but Beatrice flipped out when she saw those red Harajuku girl approved shoes that were randomly inside one of the antique malls. She definitely pulls 'em off. Also, as we were looking around one of the shops we heard Christmas carols and rushed outside to see what was up. 'Lo and behold there was a group of people caroling outside one of the cafes. Too, too awesome.
Psst: Grant's got an interview up at Paradigm Magazine about his photography. The boy's got talent!

I want that dress! And I thought I recognized that chair from somewhere around the internets before : )
ReplyDeleteI love the bear ornament!
ReplyDeleteThat dress is so good with the boots! If I ever visit CA, all I want to do is thrift. It looks like thrifting wonderland.
ReplyDeleteI grew up in the Orange Circle (well at least for my teenage years), so it holds a special place in my heart. And the treasures within the different antique malls are usually pretty affordable! I recognize the antique mall/vendor space with the hot pink chair. It’s one of my favorite places to shop when in the Circle.
ReplyDeleteI love the color combination of your pink dress and olive green tights. Quite lovely!
Where did you get that ring?
ReplyDeleteWhoops! @ Alice Young: I got the ring at the LACMA museum gift shop :)
ReplyDeleteOh man, this is such a swell outfit. Those boots are perfect!
ReplyDeleteLove your sweater! And all those antique finds are so fun! :D

You look so pretty! That dress fits you like a glove & has such a pretty print/color. Love how you mixed in combat boots to "balance" the look- and I'm extremely jealous you thrifted those! Looks like an amazing market, love that pink chair & so fun carolers stopped by.

I LOVE that dress! Your outfit is so laid back, I dig it. Christmas decor is amazing, walking around at night and looking at it is one of my favorite winter activities. :)

Wow that's so exciting for Grant! And sounds like you and Beatrice had a great day. I was creeping along via instagram. haha I need a good ole thrifting outing one of these days. I haven't had time for anything like that lately and I'm jonesing for some crazy antique-ing sillyness.
ReplyDeletebeautiful outfit, love the pretty photos as well
ReplyDelete@ Czarina: yes! Let's see...for shopping I suggest: 1. Elsewhere Vintage (the only proper womens vintage clothing store in the circle...I think. Really nice selection.), 2. The Assistance League thrift store (they re-did it though so it looks newer and less like a thrift store and more like a boutique which sort of bugs me but I've found some great stuff there), 3. The antique mall (I forget the name) next to Blue Frog Cafe, 4. The Army Navy Surplus (if you like old army jackts and bags, they have a ton) To eat: 1. Bruxie, 2. Blue Frog Cafe, 3. Gabby's Mexican, 4. Haven Gastropub :D
ReplyDeletethis outfit is so well put together i love it to pieces!
ReplyDeleteand that pink chair, i would do crazy things for it. haha
congrats to your bf! thaz so awesome!!
