some enchanted evening

Outfit Details:
Dress: Asos
Stockings: C/O Falke
Flats: Target
Headband: F21

Just realized that this entire outfit is made up completely non thrifted items. Weird! Anyway, this is what I wore on Christmas Eve. It was pretty low key (my family doesn't really do much on Christmas Eve), Grant and I exchanged presents, hopped on over to Balboa to take a stroll and look at the lights, ate some Thai Food, and then finished up the night by watching a little Home Alone 2.

But to rewind a bit, while Grant and I were walking around Balboa we saw the MOST ridiculous dog ever. It was a white teacup breed with silky long hair that had not only some sort of pearl tiara atop its head, but was also decked out in a  red velvet Christmas dress.

It was also being pushed around in a dog stroller.

Welcome to Orange County.

  1. Christmas Eve is the most important moment of the Polish Christmas. I guess that no other country has this kind of tradition.
And you you looked great. Contrasting tights are a great accent to "polite" dress.

    Happy New Year Ashley!!!

  2. Dogs in red dresses and tiaras? Well, I guess if you're gonna do tacky, you might as well go all out and be the best, I mean tackiest! I kind of admire the commitment, though; too many people half-assing it these days.

  3. this is one of my favourite outfits of yours! you look so cute and classy but totally not overdone:) love the shade f your tights!

  4. Perfect Christmas outfit post, especially the tights :) LOVE!
I am grew up in Orange County so I've seen a few of those, it's ridiculous haha.

Hope you had a lovely Christmas!

  5. Oh dogs. Once I worked in a shop where I taught people to make jewellery. Some woman came in with her pet rat--ahem, chihuahua, and proceeded to make it a collar out of pink swarovski crystals to the tune of $120.

Love the Christmas Eve look... short skirts and a sparkly head are where it's at!

  6. this is one of the cutest outfits! i love how you paired it a bright colored tights! <3 happy holidays to you dear! :D

    Love love love!

  8. beautiful holiday outfit and great photos

  9. love your holiday outfit! those dog strollers are hilarious!

  10. What delightful Christmas lights :) & I can't wait to visit the O.C. someday so I can appeal to the weirdness lol

I also bought a F21 headband but having some trouble trying to style it

  11. that dog sounds utterly ridiculous. kind of in love with this outfit. i was surprised to see it wasn't all thrifted too!
i'm pretty sure you could wear a potato sack and make it look killer.

  12. Love this dress on you, the colored tights make it even cuter :)

  13. In the last picture the sand sort of looks like snow which is really pretty. Your outfit is obviously perfect (I got a dress like that too, I'd been coveting it foreeevvverrr).
I'm really just so confused by people who dress dogs and push them in strollers...its creepy...like kids on leashes.

  14. Super cute! I've been really into collars peeking out of sweaters and dresses lately so your outfit is right up my alley. The mint green tights add a great twist. I love all the pretty lights in your photos too.

  15. Love your Christmas Eve outfit! The dress is amazing (and reminds me of Wednesday's dress, which is good for me!) and I love the color of your tights.
    Lol, poor dog :)
    Life is a romantic poem

  16. Love those green tights... They're so much fun & they look so great on you!

  17. you look very Parisian chic! Gorgeous. And the golden light! So beautiful.

What presents did yourself and Grant exchange?

  18. yeah, dogs in strollers are always rather creepy, i agree. i saw one in a baby sling once, that was pretty funny.

...and your teal tights are the perfect pop of color. happy new year my dear!

What's up?

*Had to turn word verification on (even though I personally hate it). I've been getting too many weird spambot comments lately :(
