simple things
Outfit Details:
Mustard silk blouse: thrifted
Vintage striped skirt: thrifted
Kork Ease sandals: thrifted
Vintage heart necklace
Lately, it's been really starting to feel like spring in Orange County. Lots of orange and lemon trees are bursting with fruit and whenever I drive around the county I love catching glimpses of old citrus trees peaking over fences and enclosures. Bright magenta bougainvillea is also starting to bloom in full force which is lovely.
On a different note, recently Grant and I have been going to a lot of estate sales and let's just say I'm starting to feel like a hoarder with the amount of stuff I've been buying. I never wake up early enough to get the really good items so I always feel put out whenever I show up later since it's clear that I missed out on all sorts of cool things. It's probably for the better though. Usually, the later in the day you show up the more discounted the items become. I always feel creepy rifling through people's things...not sure if I'll ever get past that feeling.

You always find the BEST items at the thrift store. I love that skirt. I wish I could go to estate sales out there. I bet there are lots of cool eccentric people that have awesome stuff.

Agree totally about the creepy feeling. I would be a bit wary of someone who could shamelessly rifle through someone else's belongings with no weird feeling whatsoever, like they lack the capacity for empathy or something. (Joking, but not really.)
ReplyDeleteI love this entire outfit!

ReplyDeleteyou are such a babe.
ReplyDeletei kind of love that creepy feeling of going through people's things. i also hate waking up before 8 am. so i too miss all the good stuff.
Estate sales are definitely creepy and awkward that way. Especially when there aren't too many other shoppers around. My boyfriend used to be down in Southern California for school—fruit trees are charming :)
ReplyDeleteI wish that it felt like spring here in Oregon.
Lovely photos. I wish I had an orange tree growing in my backyard. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteGotta endorse the matching your landscape! I can't wait until the bougainvillea start showing their face in Barcelona too!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to an estate sale. But it sounds like fun, though! Also, I love the simpleness of this outfit :) honestly, I envy your height and how you can pull of such great skirts!

I miss being able to go to great yardsales and swapmeets like when I lived in SoCal, the Bay Area just doesn't compare so I dont blame you!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so gorgeous! I love the pretty color combo of this outfit. Usually when I go to estate sales I just think about how neat it is to wander around someone else's house. It's pretty cool to be able to explore!
ReplyDeleteCitrus trees, spring... I wish I was there...
ReplyDeleteIn Poland, still winter. A terrible frost, lots of snow and crows.
