60s shift dress/ 1960s pattern mini dress/ vintage mod tapestry dress XS-S from MILK TEETHS

Possibly my favorite set from the look book series Grant and I are doing for the shop. I stumbled upon a bunch of old polaroid/ kodachrome vacation photos on flickr and got super inspired. It's a shame they don't make kodachrome film anymore, the colors that would come out were so vibrant and warm.

The polaroids done for these posts are taken with a polaroid land camera and Fujifilm FP-100c film and I am such a sucker for the white border around the shots. I actually got the land camera on Gooodwill's ebay site (did you know that they even had that? Well, they do!) and it sat in my closet for years. I  feebly tried to get the camera in working order and gave up after I bought  special batteries off Ebay, put them in, and the camera still didn't work--argh! Grant found the camera in my closet and somehow rigged it with even more batteries/ duct tape/ and possibly some re-wiring et voila! Now it works and I'm so glad. This camera beats the instax any day (sorry but the pictures that the camera spits out are just too small for my taste -_-)

  1. How awesome your bf was able to fix that camera!! Sheesh, with duck tape and everything. Lol.

These photos came out fantastic. I love your outfit. It's very 1950s SoCal housewife chic.

  5. Ohh what a perfect mini dress! I'm loving all the lookbook shoots you and Grant have been working on. :) Also, you know me and my California dreams! It looks like I may be flying back and forth from NY to SF quite a bit this upcoming year. In that case I'll have to pick your brain for good eats recommendations!

  8. I absolutely love the Polaroid Land Camera! Thank goodness Fuji makes the FP-100c film still...and I'm still so sad that Kodachrome isn't made anymore, ugh. Anyway, totally awesome that Grant figured out the Land camera, the shots turned out great!!

  9. you should play around with expired film (if you can't find any in a thrift store, lomography sells it on their website). it makes for some really cool shots.

  10. I didnt learn about kodachrome until the last developing lab closed and it was a news story (in Kansas) and I'm really seeing the advantages to shooting all these films that are not digital, lol.
