strange magic

1970s floral maxi dress S available at MILK TEETHS

This dress reminded me so much of the prom dresses in The Virgin Suicides which is why I snatched it up for the store. I thought about hemming it shorter but decided that the long length is so romantic, it would be a crime to alter it.

I've been checking the wild flower reports for the desert and surrounding area and it seems, so far, that spring wild flowers aren't doing so hot this year. At least not for Southern California. The only exception seems to be these yellow flowers that are practically everywhere (and I don't hate that one bit).

  1. my wedding dress was design-inspired (by Josie from Frances Baker) by the prom dresses from the virgin suicides and it's got the same cut! love it. :)

  8. I still haven't seen Virgin Suicides, I'm scarred from reading the book and being too young/innocent for the content. The wildflowers are so beautiful and you look incredible, it makes me miss being outside.

  16. These are beautiful photos. I like your poses too! I'm pretty sure the yellow flowers that are everywhere in SoCal are weeds, but they are lovely nevertheless.
